CFHI operates two museums in the state of California.
Much of the documents, artifacts, photographs, patterns, and castings we have archived can be viewed at these facilities.
CALIFORNIA FOUNDRY HISTORY MUSEUM- SACRAMENTO, is housed at Technikon, LLC facility--5301 Price Ave.-- in McClellan Park (Sacramento, CA). Technikon is a full-functioning modern foundry specializing in metal casting research. The museum includes a wide variety of beautifully displayed photos and written history dating back 150 years to the Gold Rush, the beginning of our state's rich foundry history. The museum offers a wealth of visual displays and information about the casting process, general California foundry history, and casting uses in transportation, defense, water control, and recycling.
DirectionsFrom Sacramento, take I-80 East onto Watt Avenue. Go North on Watt for 2 miles. Turn left at the first McClellan entrance, Peacekeeper Way. Go straight through 2 stoplights and 1 stop sign. At stop sign, continue straight and drive behind building on right-corner (which is 5201 Luce). The Sacramento museum is currently open from 11 AM to 3 PM,
Monday-Friday, for both individual and group tours. Closed on Holidays.
Admission is FREE.

CALIFORNIA FOUNDRY HISTORY MUSEUM- LODI is located at Micke Grove Park, in the Delta Building, in Lodi. The second of the CFHI museums, this museum includes displays on the foundries that contributed to the San Joaquin area's agriculture and manufacturing growth. Pictures, artifacts, patterns, castings, and interative displays can be found at CFHI's Lodi Museum.
